By Bus or Car
Kuantan is located about 250 kilometers east of Kuala Lumpur. The long distance bus stations near and within Kuala Lumpur city centre (Pudu Raya Bas Terminal, Kajang Bas Terminal and Putra Bas Terminal) provide buses to Kuantan. You can easily catch a bus that departs to Kuantan each day from any of this terminal especially the Pudu Raya Bus Terminal. The travelling time between Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Terengganu is about 3 hours. There are also bus services to Kuantan from most of the major cities in Peninsular Malaysia.
You can also hire a taxi to Kuantan. However, the fare for the taxi will be much more expensive than a bus ticket for obvious reason. If you are the adventurous type of traveler, hire a car and drive yourself to Kuantan by East Coast Expressway (Lebuhraya Pantai Timur). It is very easy since there are plenty of signboards to guide you out of the bustling city of Kuala Lumpur to Kuantan. However, we advise you to just fly, hire a taxi or hop on a bus and you will definitely reach Kuantan safe and sound.
