Call for papers

The 4th International Conference on Accounting, Business and Economics (ICABEC 2016), scheduled to be held in Kuala Terengganu, 28-30 August 2016, aims at bringing together researchers and practitioners who are interested in the current developments and issues related to global economy, businesses and accounting practices.

The theme for the conference is ‘Thriving in Emerging Economies: Transparency and Management Integrity’; thus, all related studies which suit the theme are welcome to be presented at the conference.

Broadly the main areas of inquiry include the followings, although authors should not feel limited by them. Unlisted but related sub-topics are also acceptable, provided they fit in one of the following main topic areas:

We are pleased to announce that up to 15 selected best papers presented at the 2016 Conference will be published in a special issue of the Journal of Sustainability Science and Management (JSSM). JSSM is an Open-Access and peer–reviewed journal, and currently indexed in Scopus, Scimago and DOAJ. Authors are thus reminded to write their manuscripts in accordance with the full-paper format of the Conference.


Keynote Speakers

image001Dato’ Akhbar Satar President,

Transparency International Malaysia.

Dato’ Akhbar Haji Satar, CFE is currently the President of Transparency International Malaysia, fighting against corruption. He is an experienced corporate fraud investigator who held numerous senior management positions including as a State Director at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) before his optional retirement from the agency after more than 18 years of service. Further, he has 13 years investigative experience in private sector. As the founder and President of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE)-Malaysia Chapter, his involvement in training and creating awareness on fraud related issues in Malaysia is highly notable.


Professor Dr Normah Omar

Director of the Accounting Research Institute (ARI),

Universiti Teknologi MARA, MALAYSIA

Prof Dr Normah Omar is the Director of Accounting Research Institute, UiTM, Malaysia. She has more than 20 years of experience in education. Her areas of expertise include Management Accounting, Corporate Governance and Forensic Accounting. She is one of the prominent lecturers in the Faculty of Accountancy, UiTM Shah Alam with various publications to date. She is also engaged in providing consultancy to various organizations such as Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia (LLM) and Akademi Percukaian Negara (APN). She was recently invited as a visiting professor at the Kyushu Sangyo University in Japan and at Tashwane University of Technology, South Africa.
